Continuing The Tradition - Tuesday June 24, through Saturday June 28, 2008

The Dogwood Invitational seeks to perpetuate the tradition of competition, celebrate the game of golf and encourage participation among amateur golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and golf patrons committed to Continuing the Tradition of Amateur golf. We are proud to have held forty-one Dogwoods at our home course Druid Hills Golf Club, and look for a great forty-second in 2008.

The Atlanta Junior Golf Association, the Wayne Reynolds Scholarship Foundation are the selected beneficiaries of the Dogwood Invitational for 2008. Our contributions to these organizations totals over $150,000 since 1994 with the support of our many friends and sponsors. The tournament draws support from Club Members, Atlanta Golf enthusiasts and Corporate Sponsors dedicated to perpetuating the game of golf.

Participation in The Dogwood Invitational is by Invitation from the Dogwood Tournament Committee. The tournament is 72 holes of stroke play for Amateurs and Mid Amateurs with a 54 hole cut to low 36 for the final round. The Senior Division will play 54 holes Wednesday - Friday.

Amateur and Mid Amateur Divisions are required to walk during tournament play. Players may carry their golf bag themselves, or take a caddie. Caddies may be requested in advance during registration, or players may select one on their own. Senior Division will be allowed to ride in carts for all three rounds.

Tournament week starts Monday June 23 with the Open Qualifier at 8 am.

Tuesday the 24th is the Wayne Reynolds Am-Am Tournament with an 8:30 am and 1:30 pm shotgun start, allowing for sponsors and participants to play together, and is followed by a Sponsor and Player reception to cap off the day.

The first round is Wednesday the 25th at 8:00 AM. Friday the 27th there is a 54-hole cut for Amateur and Mid Amateur Divisions to the low 36 and ties. Friday is the Final Round for Senior Divison. Amateur and Mid Amateur Final round is Saturday the 28th at 8:00 am. There will be an awards ceremony after both of the the final rounds.
